CFExpress card readers not recognized by computer

My Windows 10 system computers do not recognize CFExpress card readers. However it shows D6, D5, D500 so I can open and move the files. Since the computers don't recognize the device there is no eject option (for the reader or the card). Simply pulling it out of the USB port is the only option.
Others have this concern? Any suggestions or what not?

You can only see EXIF info for this image if you are logged in.
Do you have an icon (something like this one) on your taskbar when you insert the card reader?
What is the make and model/type of the card reader?
The idea of a driver being needed is possible but Windows these days normally has them as part of the system or can find them from an on-line Windows driver repository.
You could check the Device Manager (Open Device Manager Windows 10) and see if the card reader is enunciated there?

No, see nothing about the reader. I have 2, Treebleet and ProGrade. When plugged in they do light the busy light on the readers.
I click My Computer I see the card (only, not reader) listed, clicking it opens the card and it am good to go. But I cant stop or eject the card.

On my win 10 system when I put a CFe card in the reader it just shows as drive J just the same as if I used an XQD or SD card unless I use a different USB port.

A reader without a card does not show in My Computer/This Computer. Ejecting the card is the same. It shows eject drive J.

I think the eject option is pretty much a thing of the past for Windows 10. My XQD reader does not show until I insert a card then it assigns a drive letter to the card. If I format the card in camera the disk name on Windows 10 will be the camera model. When I am finished with my file transfers I just remove the card.

No it is not. In the taskbar there is a USB stick icon. Click on that and it lists all of the things that can be ejected. Just removing the card runs the risk of corrupting it and mabe causing damage.

I do not have that and can't seem to make it stick in the task bar. However I have it in the My Computer, and it shows the USB as empty when the CFexpress reader is plugged in, with or without a card installed.
I've got it sorted out. Thanks to all

Yes, you are correct. But the default policy now in Windows 10 for usb drives is "Quick removal" which disables all of the write caching. I don't take the time to change the default policies on my storage cards so I feel comfortable in removing the device when the files are done being copied.
