Frosting on the Windowpane

In one of John Denver's songs he sang of frosting on the windowpane. This morning at a bit lower than 10 degrees (F) we once again had frost on some of our windows. Formation of frost on the inside of windows (storm windows in this case) is a function of temperature and humidity, but the yield is some beautiful ephemeral frost. My condolences to those of you who live where it's too warm to ever see frosting on the windowpane.

Thank you all for your comments.

I would really like to figure out how to get those.

These were on our storm windows, I shot them with a 60mm macro lens through the interior window. Opening the interior window almost instantly fogs the storm window with condensation and starts the frost melting. The most photogenic frost on our windows seems to develop between +10 and -5 degrees. I would expect that another house with different windows and a different level of humidity, inside and out, would develop frost differently or not at all..
