Was fortunate to find this old guy hanging out along Antelope Flats road today. He wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere and the high clouds kept the light pretty decent so I spent most of the day there as he mostly sat around on the ground, occasionally slept but stood up and browsed around a couple of times. I was shocked to see I'd been there almost six hours though some chilly wind and a couple of short rain/sleet showers but it was worth it for the couple of times he got up and showed off his size.

Nice one Dave.
Have the Moose moved out of the Gros Ventre River bottom yet?
Not really. This one was pretty close to Ditch Creek but there was a cow and calf that created quite a traffic jam near the Gros Ventre junction and they were hanging out in the cottonwoods near the river bottom.

Thanks Dave. I was over there a couple of times this week but kept close to the Moran jct. area.

That 'rack"? is awesome
Yeah, he's been around a couple of seasons :). Notice he broke his rack on his left (viewers right), looks like he got into it pretty good this season at some point and is missing that one tall point seen on the close side.

Majestic animal and great images! I remember almost bumping into one in the woods I think near the Tetons many years ago. Did not have a camera then but probably would have dropped it anyway.

Super shot DR -Those bulls really are stunning ,, I never appreciated just how big those guys were until I got up close to one when I was in Vancouver Island albeit it was stuffed and in Cabelas in Nanaimo

Thanks folks.

Took a walk around one of the closed park campgrounds today and came across half a dozen Moose including one big bull the locals call Shoshone along with a few younger guys. The evening light was nice but shooting was challenging as they played hide and seek in the cottonwood trees with a lot more backside than front side views. Still it's always great to be around these big fellas this time of year.
