I don't usually use the 1.4 TC with the D500/ 500pf combo, but sometimes (e.g. relatively large or slow birds in good light) it can be useful. Here are 2 recently at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. Double-crested cormorant and some Harlequin drakes.
