B&H has a 128GB CFexpress Professional Type B Card paired with a 20Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C card reader. I have been trying to determine if such card readers will work in a type C 3.1 Port... I would think that the read speeds would be less yet I'm thinking I might be future-proofing myself with this reader.

Thoughts?

Should work all good, with slower speed. If there is one thing that annoys me, it's lengthy cards transfer. I don't know which reader that is but I bought several readers from various average brands displaying super fast speed in theory, but in the real world they sucked big time, starting fast and quickly losing performance to a sustained 45mb/s average. I then got a sandisk and the speed was much better (understand: sustained 150-200 mb/s during all the transfer). I've got some acquaintances using prograde readers and they're apparently excellent.
