The first one Bass & Bligh had was collected by me - on 22nd Feb
In the UK some small dealers such as Bass and Bligh in Harrogate seem to get a good slice of new equipment from Nikon.
Specific to the UK - Nikon is shipped from the European Warehouse in Belgium in the EEC to UK retailers and takes around a week extra to clear UK Customs.
As of Wednesday B&B had 85 f1.2's in shipping but not delivered.

If people are looking for 800PF's there are 4 being sold in the B/S forum on FM... they all look unused. The lowest priced lens is $6500... w/out tax that's a big savings on a new one. Other than being a forum visitor, I have no connection with FM or any of the sellers... I thought that this might be helpful, as one never knows when Nikon will fulfill their back orders.

Ordered mine with Grays of Westminster (UK) on January 24th, got it today…..woooooh hoow, now I need a sunny day..in the UK. Will probably have to wait just as long.
I thought that Nikon stopped taking NEW orders in approx. October 2022 , so they could fulfill there existing orders.
Ordered mine in May 2022. Still waiting !! wooooooh B****###***Y hoow. , AND,
it will be wasted in the U.K. It's always sunny in New Zealand

I think it may have been only B&H that stopped accepting new orders.

No Nikon stopped taking orders for the 400 f2.8 TC and the 800PF at the same time. That was Nikon themselves so that was for everywhere. What may have happened is an NPS member decided he didn't want it and at that point the shop has to give it to a Non-NPS order so the top name on their open stock list would get it.

My local shop in Cape Town has just received 6 lenses. Long overdue to fill outstanding orders
The highest serial No is 2000782*

These numbers seem unusual as the photosynthesise site has previously accepted that the first PF 800 production number ends with 2001.
This site had been told about a lens ending 6449 about 3 weeks ago.
Based on a 2001 start the estimated known number is shown on the site is 4449.

My Canadian dealer said the Nikon rep told him all of the supertele backlog would be cleared by September.

That sounds about right as last July I spoke to the USA Northeast rep at my shop and he said any orders placed then whether it was an NPS order or open stock the minimum wait time was 18 months. This was before the 600f4 TC was announced. We all know that certain number of people canceled their 800 PF order and then ordered a 600f4 TC. So would be understandable that the backlog could shrink by a couple of months

It’s been a year since I placed my order. I contacted my local dealer for an update. I was told I might get it this year (2023), but don’t count on it.
I do not know how successful your local dealer is at getting a new equipment. This can be worth monitoring.
The first 800 PF my local dealer got was in February – and they have had two more since.
My Z9 came three months after launch though for unknown reasons my dealer was very late receiving any 100–400 S lenses.

Just got a call from a Toronto camera shop -- not my regular guy/retailer -- who nearly a year ago said he'd put me on the list for the 800, just because. At the time I had a deposit down on the lens with my regular shop (since have shifted that order to the 600). ANYWAY, the call was to say there was an 800 waiting for me if I wanted it.... Almost went for it, but decided to stick with my decision to get the 600/800 TC.
All to say, seems the 800 is shipping in Canada to mere morals! I did wonder aloud with the camera shop guy if maybe the arrival of a few 800s might mean the 600 was soon to arrive. Answer: "Not likely." LOL

Here's the latest estimate (DPR thread) of production rate(s) of the 800mm PF. It is clear Nikon has accelerated production over the past few weeks. This could be the pay off of increasing production of the limiting PhaseFresnel element. There are several reports of long awaited orders arriving at smaller camera shops.
There is recounted evidence (source, Nikon USA) that Nikon has only 1 dedicated US$7M machine specialized to mold (and etch?) its propriety PF elements; as importantly the elements apparently take several months to anneal before the final procedures can go ahead manufacturing the telephoto.

Thanks much for this (tho such 'simple' explain things info should be coming from Nikon, me thinks!.) My sincere take away from this is that I should not expect my 600 tc until 2024.
The Z 600 mm TC does not have a PF element. So I would think that the machine that makes PF elements and has been a bottleneck for the Z 800 PF would not affect the production of the Z 600 TC. Hope your Z 600 TC comes soon. I have the Z 800 mm PF and am liking it a lot.

-- it's heavier than I would like. I also do a lot of bird photography where 800 mm is nice and I have also been using it with the Z 1.4x TC to get to 1120 mm f9. Good luck getting the Z 600. I'm sure you will love it.Keith2012

I originally ordered the Z 800 PF lens from BH Photo at 12:12 a.m. Central Time on April 6, 2022. I just received a shipping notice yesterday from BH Photo that it has shipped and will have it by Wednesday. I thought I would give this update for those still waiting. It’s been a long wait but glad to finally be getting it.
