I love shooting close and the Z100-400 is a killer tool. These were taken during a late fall warm stretch over one of the milkweed patches I plant in my yard. The last two are backlit firebush leaves.

Like #8. I'd try square framing to eliminate the black area on the right of the picture. The shade of red on the leaf in the foreground is very successful.

Thanks. The dark spot is the shadow of the central subject and is intentional. The theme of shooting it was light and shadow. It was done for a college photography course assignment. I have it alot of different ways on my computer. It look good in monochrome. Here's a few variationson the theme I shot. THey are all shot directly into golden hour setting sun to get that backlighting.

Nice that you caught the Ailanthus webworm moth on the flower.

Is that a webworm moth under the butterfly int his picture? I never got around to looking up what they were. They were really common late in the year last fall. The pirate bug sitting under it in the first picture didn't suck it dry so I figured it must be one of the good bugs.
