I was photographing a water ski tournament about two weeks ago when I spotted this visitor out of the corner of my eye.
I had a lull in shooting the skiers, so I watched it fly away, hoping that it might be back. My luck was to be fairly good that day...
And finally, the last shot before the water ski action resumed and this Swallow-Tailed Kite flew away. The final shot is uncropped, using a full-frame Z9 and a 200mm lens so that you can tell how close the Kite was. My hope that the Kite would skim the water was unfulfilled for that day, which wasn't surprising since the activity on the ski lake was fairly constant and the complex has several other lakes as well.
