Any opinions regarding Luminar AI for bird/wildlife photography

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I recently saw an article on the Luminar AI photo editing software, so I went to their web site to see what its capabilities were. It appears to do almost all of the editing for you.

After viewing the videos demonstrating its features, and reading the web site, it seems to me that this app is best for portrait, landscape, and "artistic" photographers. It might be useful to some bird/wildlife photographers for "sky substitution" also.

For my bird & wildlife photography however, I am a "WISIWYG" (not WYSIWYG) = "What I Saw Is What You Get." With that in mind, I'm not sure that this software would be right for me.

Are there benefits that I might be overlooking in this software?

From all the comments ....It does not look positive!;)

Photoshop recently added a sky replacement Edit > Sky Replacement It works well, but I rarely use sky replacements because to me they usually look fake.

I just ran a webinar with Julieanne Kost of Adobe. She shared how she uses sky replacement and other compositing techniques. She usually is gathering images to composite at the same time and place. Sky composites can be very specific to the lens, direction, time of day, etc. It will look fake if you choose the wrong angle and try to "make something work". If you have purposely created your own library of skies with specific lenses, time of day, direction, etc. - you can make it look very realistic.

Actually, I started doing that last year. I try (to remember) to take at least one sky shot session and then use them instead of the "those sure aren't from Minnesota" alternatives!

For example, playing around with 3 different shots:
The sunset on one day
The GBH silhouette on another
And my wife flying home on another!
