One of the most colorful of these predatory insects I've ever seen. Now, in mid-April, insects are becoming more active and will be presenting a multitude of opportunities for photography. Many insects are every bit as colorful and beautiful as any bird.

Nice shot! Yes, insects have wonderful color and detail. Most look like they hail from a pre-historic era!
