Backyard Barred

We've been fortunate to have several barred owl visits the last couple of days. Most likely the same bird. Obviously we're hoping a couple will nest nearby and visit from time to time. So far we've seen our chipmunk population reduced by at least two.

We heard them calling last year but I wasn't able to find any. Due to the increasing number of deer ticks in the woods of New England, photographing from indoors is a welcome bonus.

(These have large crops that were taken through a window.)

Thanks Ralph. You're right, lucky indeed.

BTW, in the second photo the shutter speed is shown as 10/600 instead of 1/60. I've seen that format before, probably in this forum, that's why I checked the odd numbers in your snow geese post.
