Bald Eagle, terrible conditions and not ready. Is it useable?

Was driving up 97 and saw this guy perched along the river.
The wind was blowing, it was cold and the sky was terrible.
I pulled the Jeep over in the grass, jumped out and shot a few before he left.

I've already printed it for myself at 111 x 14, I'm just wondering if the white sky and the branches appeals to anyone.
The sky is horrible, but I think the branches are cool.

Works for me…it' almost like high key I think is what they call it. Nice shot of the bird…and sometimes the background isn't as nice as it could be…but that's the way it is sometimes.

Just a thought....why not give black and white a try. If you use Lightroom, in the develop module, left had side, there are some B&W presents....given "B&W Punch" a try and see if you like it. I got some like that, but got super lucky and got some in better light and background. Still heck, it's a bald eagle...be stoked :)

Okay, I'll be honest. To me, this picture has problems. The upward angle of the shot is not a good perspective, and the light is not great. The thing is, if this picture is good to you because of the memory associated with taking it, then it doesn't have to be a picture for the masses. Hang your print and when you look at it you can have the good memories of that day. You'll take other pictures that will have great light, perspective, background and composition. Those can be the ones other people will get excited about. This one is for you. And, let's face it, that's why we all do this photography thing. :)

It's a nice shot. Don't mind the branches too much, and I personally love high key shots. However, the steep angle on the bird is what makes this shot unappealing to me.

The first one captures that moment for you, but the 2nd one is definitely a keeper! Better background, good color, and the look on that eagle is great.
