This operating grist mill is now a museum. It was built in the late 1800s. I don't know how long it operated for business but it has been a museum for about 50 years. It is located just outside of the town of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. I took this photo in October 2018 when the fall colours were at their best. As usual, constructive comments are welcome!

I'll just throw this out there. Kathy, my eye struggles a bit with the reflection of the bridge. It might help to darken it a bit with a gradient filter. That could also help give the image more depth. The reflection of the bank on the left is dark and I think a darker reflection of the bridge might help make the water a visual path leading to the main subject.

One more thing, its a beautiful picture. Love the ambience.

Thanks Charlie. I will give that a try. Just to be sure, are you suggesting that I darken all of the reflection (including the mill) or just the bridge reflection?

Beaut place and mill, Kathy! Wish we had these/those around here. If you would want to change the sky a bit as you mentioned, Nik Veveza wil let you do it, just drop a control point and you can change the color to suit.

Thank you Callie. And, thanks for the tip on Viveza, I have yet to try that trick. But I will do so with this photo.

Kathy delete if you want. Used brightness and contrast and selectively masked out. The Nik and popped the roof, downed the red building and blued the sky. Darkened the stump. Sorry, messed the posting! Picture in next post

I really like this Callie. Did you do all the changes in Viveza? The sky, lol, it so did not look like that - it was very overcast and the sky was grey! Your edits have removed a bit of the warm tones of the fall colours so it looks a bit greener than it actually was at the time. So, I might play a bit to keep the fall colours in addition to what you have done.
Thanks Callie

So beautiful Kathy(y)

Beautiful photo, Kathy! I was going to suggest removing the log on the left bank that was reflecting in the water. It was bright and distracting to me, but I like Charlie's and Callie's edits where the log is darker and not distracting, yet adds to the story. It is a beautiful scene and very well done, Kathy!!
