While on a "bird walk" at a local park, I also was on the lookout for other things including flowers qand insects. The wonderful Nikon 100-400 lens allows the opportunity to cover this wide range in a single lens. So, in addition to the GBH and other bird photos presented elsewhere, here are a couuple of "bee shots" from that walk. Shots are 37.87mp and 30.39mp full height crops respectively. Gotta love that close focus capability.

Go for it. This is the primary lens on my Z9. Sometimes with either the TC14 or TC20, though the TC20 is saved for bright light conditions. I absolutely love this lens for what I shoot.

The long lenses that allow close focus open up a new aspect for photography. My Olympus 100-400mm (200-800 FF equiv.) focuses to about four feet -- Wow for insects that won't tolerate an approach close enough for a macro lens.
