A red mite hitches a ride on a Winter Firefly (Ellychnia corrusca - I think) I've heard that these hitch-hikers do no harm but tucking yourself under a beetles wing is a common way that mites move to new environments. Although it’s a firefly, and the eggs, larvae, and pupae have the ability to glow, apparently the adults cannot glow or light up.
