So with all of the agricultural areas near Phoenix being turned into neighborhoods, many of the local Burrowing Owls are being displaced. Good news is that several organizations such as Az Game and Fish Dept, and a raptor recovery organization (Wild at Heart), are working to move impacted owls to other habitats, either out in the desert, or in available local areas. Several of the local community colleges have become involved and we now have habitats located in large empty areas on the college grounds. I found out several weeks ago that one was established nearby, so I went out this morning to give it a try.
