Nice. Coots are fun to photograph. I will leave the serious critique to those more knowledgeable. My only thing is I feel like I want it to be lower in the frame but still a nice photo of spattering.

I like the frame the way it is.
Nice job on the exposure, Coots are challenging as it's very easy to blow out their white bony beaks. I like the image as it's framed.
I'm with Dave here I like it as framed... that's a heck of a commotion going on there and its a wonderful capture.

Subjective, totally - try adding about 1 cm/1/2" to the top and rotate the image 180deg and look at the impact then. Tone down the whites in the back behind him, especially the burnt out spot on top of his wing. Slightly darken the FG.
