One of the sweetest sounding songs among the Warblers.

I made a number of attempts to find and actually see a Canada Warbler once I learned they were in a certain area. On this particular day I left the house at 5:30 am and was at the site at 6:15 am. In all my time there this was the only Canada Warbler I saw and he was way up in the canopy and wouldn't come down or even look at me despite my best pishing efforts.

In the end I had to settle for these brief video clips taken from the back of him and settle for these sound recordings of this beautiful little songster. Nevertheless, I am happy to get even them.

Nice video. They don't always take direction from us, do they? Great job on the audio mix.

Thanks a lot Dave.
Getting the sound track was interesting. I recorded this little fellow right in the middle of the morning rush hour with a super busy and noisy highway close by. Because his song was so loud in my clips I assumed that I would be able to isolate and rehabilitate his song using Audacity audio software, but that the quieter more subtle forest and bird sounds would never survive the harsh noise reduction filtering process needed to remove the traffic noise. So I came back to this spot later that morning after the traffic rush when there was little or no road noise and recorded that. I also cleaned that up in Audacity and then blended the two audio samples and synched the songs with the Warbler's movements. I added a soft music track for the final result. I find this whole creative process quite enjoyable.
Cheers,
Rudy

You did well Rudy -- we ran across Canada's multiple times during spring reverse-migration and all of them were particularly un-cooperative!
Thanks very much Garfield.
I'm still pretty new at Warblers in general as I've always been a big bird type of guy, i.e. Eagles, Osprey, Owls, Harriers, etc., plus Herons, Egrets and other waterfowl. Two years ago I tried photographing Warblers for the first time and thought it was hopeless endeavor because they never stayed put long enough for a decent shot. But since I recently bought a high-quality mirrorless camera, an R5, for the main purpose of doing wildlife videos, I thought "What the heck , I'm going to try recording Warblers." It's turning out to be not nearly as hard as I thought it would be and I'm having a great time observing and learning about these beautiful little birds.

Rudy

You really did a good job. I seem to have loud background noises everywhere I find thing to video. I have got some of the worst noise out mostly using hum removal tool in PS Elements Premier. I'm guessing DaVinci does not have good noise reduction available or you would use it?

Thanks Dave. Having been a bit of a musician most of my life I really enjoy working with sound and audio files on a granular level. While Davinci seems to have a very decent suite of audio processing tools I prefer working with a freeware program called Audacity. It allows you to see and adjust the audio waveforms and gives you great control over everything. I find the noise removal much more successful in Audacity.
Cheers,
Rudy
