"Can't talk now..........gotta frog in my throat!" (Green Night Adder predation)

A major highlight of this last trip was finding a Green Night Adder on the road that had just bitten this frog and about to swallow him, a rare treat to see, if it wasn't on the road, we'd have no chance of ever seeing this event.
This little guy was so ticked off that we had disturbed him he even lashed out by trying to twice bite our car tyre! 😮
Lying on the ground gave me a direct up close and personal POV, these venomous Adder's can't bite you with a mouthful of frog. :p
Light rain was falling which added some nice water drops on the snakes skin.
Kogatende- Northern Serengeti- TZ.

Beautiful shots, especially the ones once he gets the frog in his mouth. Always amazes me how big an item a snake can swallow, they're mouth never looks like it's big enough. :)

@marc - something I forgot to ask , are those little Snakes dangerous to humans ? if you were bitten by one of them would/could it kill you ?

Although venomous, the night adders venom is not highly toxic, and bites to humans are rarely fatal.

Terrific shots. The entire sequence reminds me how I feel (from the frog's standpoint) when i am doing my income taxes. Great work!!
