Cfexpress and Lightroom Issue !

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

When I import photos they would usually go to the date of import...but when I import with a Cfexpress card it sets up differently in lightroom ...files in a different place, photo show up but with the card removed ...files cannot be found. you put the card back in and it works..don't know why but card info is not saved...any ideas.

Thanks,
Chuck

Copy to desktop and work from there to see if that works. Check to be sure your LrC settings are still set at date of import. Check to ensure your file settings, where you have instructed LrC to put the files/folders, is still set correctly. Contact card manufacturer...

I’ve found that Lightroom treats the CFexpress differently than an XQD card. For instance if I insert a CFexpress LR doesn’t recognize it automatically and I now have to start the import process manually. I also have to navigate to the top of the file structure and make sure the subdirectory checkbox is selected. LR also doesn’t eject the card after importing the files. Each time I start the import process I have to be sure all of the dialog settings are what I want, copy vs. move, destination folder, etc. A little bit of searching on Google seems to indicate this a problem with the way Apple (my situation) recognizes a CFexpress card as a different device than a CF, SD or XQD card. At least that’s what Abode is saying.

When you import the photos are you seeing the progress bar at the top left moving along as it should do. And does the progress bar et right to the end of the field.

Do you see the preview thumbnail images in the film strip.

The destination folder will be at the top right of the workspace. Is it set to the place you really want the images to be ?

In the middle of the top bar is the action set to "add".

Are you using an import preset. If so how is that set up.

Can you see the images outside of LrC like in Windows Explorer.

You might double check the box in left panel of import module, tell Lightroom to include photos in subfolders. Worth a try, otherwise I don't know.

I would agree and concur on each of these points and am an Apple user too. Everything works with my CF Express card reader (ProGrade) and cards (ProGrade too) but it's not as fluid as with my XQD and SD cards when they're inserted and prepared for import.

That all works. photos show up but without the card in reader you cannot process ..

Thanks

Maybe Ok now...I put a check mark in a sub folder and I only had a few photos on the card, but I was able to PP with the card removed ...

Thank You for all the help !
