It was in leaf litter beneath a rock overhang. There was a dim, narrow beam of light through the trees that illuminated that one spot.
I’d rather be lucky than good.

Thanks, Alan. As described in the reply above, it was total opportunism. The beam of light just appeared and vanished with passing clouds above a pretty solid tree canopy. f/8 and be there, indeed.
