Congrats on the forum Steve

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

Like everyone else, I was excited to hear about the new forum. I've been enjoying your youtube channel for a bit and read through one of your ebooks a few times. You've been a big help to us novices!

Steve, thanks for all your efforts. I've read all your books, watched I think all of your videos, and have enjoyed them tremendously. You have helped me get back into photography after a 20+ yr absence. 20+ years ago I was reading and studying John Shaw and Art Wolfe. Now, your the man! Thanks for your dedication and commitment to detail. You have made this venture worthwhile. Now, I just have to try and get as good as you are!

Hey Steve. Would like to take this opportunity to say how happy I am after purchasing your book "Secrets to the Nikon AF System' and how much it has improved my photos. At least, that's what I think :).

A big THANK YOU for the book and creating this forum. I am sure it will be a great help to all the photography enthusiasts like me.

All the very best.

@Steve Only got your email this afternoon and joined up straight away (well, after an hour of waiting for my confirmation email... :):):) ) and all I can say is that you have opened up Pandora's box. A brand new forum and it already has the feel of being operational many years. So much inspiration coming in to get back out after Covid lockdown finishes. Definitely my new "go to" forum.

Thanks and congratulations from Down Under, Melbourne, Australia.

Yes its a great forum but will it get ruined like so many of the others ...
Many forums have a clique of members who must not be upset .
On one forum the head of the clique posted a picture of a bride and groom standing the "wrong way around" ie bride on the left as you look at it . I pointed this out and got a tyrade of abuse from the award-winning but unqualified photographer . He seem to forget that he had hidden the brides ring behind the groom and the groom needs his right hand to defend his bride ( tradition)

In another Critique forum the guy had made a great job of removing cars from the left of the picture but forgot the black lamppost sticking out the groom head .

In another, I suggested taping up the thumbwheels and lens buttons once the settings were entered so they could not be knocked .
ridiculous they shouted. ( I always do that )

On one forum UHH most of the tread titles are non specific eg I need help or Great Lens. Please it wastes so much time clicking on threads where you cannot help. I only have seen one on here FANTASTIC but whats fantastic please tell me in the title.
On the same forum the replies go on for hundreds of replies ..If its got more than 8 replies I dont bother because it must have been answered by now.
I have been on forums for years and my favourite is Nikon Rumors..calm and educated discussion or Nikon gear for hard core technical stuff.
OK Steve you just BANNED me ( I hope not )
