Could this be Nikon's Price Strategy for Super Teles

I looked the price of the 4 Z mount Super Tele lenses and found an interesting, though possibly superious, relationship. This is US prices.

TC lenses cost is $4,750 per KG
Non-TC lenses cost around $2,800 per KG.

Very interesting

LensWeightPrice$/KG
400 TC2,950$ 14,000$ 4,746
600 TC3,260$ 15,500$ 4,755
400 F/4.51,160$ 3,250$ 2,802
800 PF2,385$ 6,500$ 2,725
Yip, paying for the convenience of having two lenses in one

RichF, I'm hoping your OP is spot on and that Nikon eventually makes a lightweight version of the Z 400mm TC and Z 600mm TC.

If they do, and weigh in at about 1/4-to-1/2 the weight of the current offerings, with the same IQ, I predict that Nikon will outsell production capability moreso than the initial release of the Z9, by far.

Unfortunately, reality tells me that in this case, the prices for such lenses would go in the direction opposite of my hopes! :(
