This guy is cleaning his antlers in our garden (!). I have him on my wildlife infrared camera for the last couple of nights, coming to visit from the nearby woods, but today he came in the evening and I got a portrait with my D850

Wow. Your deer are on a different schedule than ours in North America. Here they won't be rubbing velvet off until this fall. Don't even have horns right now.

I think you would call this a Roe Deer in English. They start early in the year.

Thank you, I was sooo lucky to have him very close for a few seconds that mattered and the light just perfect. With the 500PF and 1.5 TC on, he almost did not fit on the chip.
