Hi this is a question for any of you using an Epson P900 printer. Epson has an update which came out around the 1st of April and since installing this update I now have what I can best describe as "tractor tracks" running the length of the print. These are not what is commonly called pizza wheel marks. If I Turn on the Thick Paper setting the problem goes away. I'm using Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster which is 10mils thick. This happens with whatever paper I use.
Have any of you seen this problem after doing the update.

Hi Again, in the continuing saga of the P900. After talking to Epson they are replacing the printer. Also after all this I read from several sources that you NEVER do updates on Epson printers (don't know if this also applies to Canon). The question is.... when you get something new(like a printer) they say to check for updates while doing the initial install. I have always checked and updated if an update was available but now I'm wondering if this is a good idea. My problem occurred after doing an update after already having it for 4 months.

Hi Al, I have had several Epson printers over the years and normally updated drivers and firmware whenever a new version was published - never had an issue with them.

My current printer is a P900, like yours, and it was updated recently with no ill-effect.

Pleased you got the problem sorted out :)

I guess that there must have been something wrong with the printer from the outset and the update just set it off and basically made it unusable. I received the new printer in from Epson and it's working fine. I have returned the original printer to Epson along with a couple of sample pictures to show them what I was seeing.

Hopefully the new printer gives you many years of good service.

Most printer companies want you to be happy with thier product so that you'll continue to purchase their ink!
