Eyecup for Nikon Z9

I am trying to replace my DK-33 rubber eyepiece with a cupped eyepiece suck as the DK-19 I use on my D5. I cannot find one on the internet.

Is there a replacement?

Steve
I got the Zemlin for my Z9, it is well made, fits good, collapses and is comfortable to use.

The Zemlin eyecup is a modified DK-19! That's the reason I like it.

"Made from genuine Nikon DK-19 eyecup and 3D-Printed glass-filled ABS components. These are bonded together at assembly."

Update!

I just found out that Karl has updated the original Zemlin eye-cup for the Nikon Z9 !

New Version: "An alternative eyepiece for the Nikon Z9. Locks onto camera body exactly like the stock DK-33 Eyepiece. Made from a custom designed and molded silicone eye-cup and 3D-Printed glass-filled ABS components. The eyecup is very secure in the mount and will not pull out accidentally. These are bonded together at assembly. The rubber cup is not replaceable."

He has also updated the eye piece for the Hydrophobia/Sport Shield rain covers. Information HERE.

I have also been using his lens cap on my F mount 600mm E lens - and just found out that it also fits the new Z mount 600mm! wooooHOOOO!

I wish I'd known about the new eye cup earlier as I just received my Zemlin 400 f2.8E FL VR hood and could have had this eye cup sent with it to save freight costs.

I wasn't making any noise about it ahead of time because I wasn't certain I'd have a viable product until I got the production samples on the 25th. Sorry about that. Shipping costs to Australia are harsh for sure. Need to get a few friends together for a bulk order to split the shipping.

Not your fault at all, Karl. I am just upset that I didn't wait a week or so to buy the 400 f2.8E FL VR hood as it was an impulse buy! LOL. I may ask a few of the local guys and see if anyone wants one of your eyecups and see if we can get a few sent to save on freight costs.

About a year ago, Moose Peterson published an article about replacing the eye cup of the Z9 DK-33 eyepiece with the Nikon DK-2 eye cup. I acquired a DK-2 but cannot get it mounted on to the DK-33 inner ring per Moose’s article. Has anyone accomplished this hack?

I actually think Moose Peterson and also Hudson Henry probably copied my idea of this hack. I posted my hack on FM Forums way back in January 2022 just after I got my Z9 although I can't locate the post as it is buried somewhere.

Have you split the plastic "carrier" apart? Here are some photos to help:

Remove the rubber part:

Split the plastic "carrier" apart as well. The one on the left is not split, the one on the right is split. You need to get a knife between the two plastic parts and gently pry them apart:

Initially, used a cup like this for my Z9 until I got the Nikon DK-19 cup months later and used that:

Here is the DK-19 mounted on the Z9 plastic "Carrier"

Thanks, I’ll look for a DK-19 eyecup. MP has taken down his DK-2 post…as usual, his equipment hack advice is totally misleading. Anyone looking for a couple of DK-2 eye cups at a good price, get in touch.

I'm sold on the Zemlin. It works very well and the one on my Z9 has been on the camera for over a year and a half and has no signs of needing to be replaced. it works very well with my eyeglasses.
