A second dumb thing I have done recently.
I was updating the firmware on my Z7 and FTZ recently. I did not pay enough attention to the directions and did both updates with the FTZ and an F-mount lens attached to the body (1.4x TCIII and 500 mm PF lens). I then noticed that the FTZ firmware 1.10 update said I should remove the lens before doing the update. It also seemed to imply that I should have removed the FTZ before updating the Z7 firmware to 3.10, although I do not recall seeing that step in the 3.10 firmware instructions. (I then did the update of my Z6 and other FTZ in accordance with the instructions.)
The update of the Z7 and FTZ firmware to 3.10 and 1.10 respectively seemed to go ahead with no issues. And my Z7, the FTZ, the 1.4x TCIII and the 500 mm PF lens that were attached when I did the updating seem to be working normally.
Should I be worried about having done the update this way? Can I redo it to so that any issues the mistake made can be corrected?
