I just received notice of an update to version 3.7 of Reikan FoCal Pro software. They have added a new feature called Camera Snapshots that will allow you to import, export, edit, and catalog Nikon Camera settings. It work with Nikon cameras D600 and newer. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it looks interesting. I believe it is only part of the $99 Pro version of the software.

More information about Camera Snapshot here.

What might be encouraging is that Reikan released Focal Mobile in November. The Camera Snapshots feature is not part of the Mobile app now but maybe it will be in the future.

Nikon has not released anything like this that I am aware of so maybe a third party developer will come up with something that will allow users to better manage the increasing number of settings in modern cameras.

Thom Hogan mentioned it in a post on his website today. He seems excited about it.

It's too bad that Reikan does not do a free demo version. I think Snapshots would be useful to me, both to save settings and to edit them. But I'd like to see that it works. Not sure that I would use the other testing features of the software.

Has anyone here used the new Snapshot feature? On a Z9? Or other Z body? Would love to hear what you thought of it. And whether the ability to edit settings on your computer and send back to the camera body works.

I have tried it a little on both my Z6ii and my Z9. It has some benefits but I think it needs a little more development and I'm really hoping it becomes part of the Mobile version. I can see the setting for the shooting setting and the video settings but I don't believe any of the custom settings are available. I also can see that I have 4 shooting banks and I can edit the name of the shooting banks and custom setting banks but I don't see the settings for the custom settings banks. If I take a Snapshot in shooting bank A it will show me the values for shooting bank A but I cannot see any of the settings for the other shooting banks. I am going to continue to try to work through the settings but I will be taking a Snapshot before I do my next firmware update.
