Besides wildlife, shooting fungi is my main passion when going out with my camera. The main season for fungi here in the german forests reaches from September to early November.
This is also the season I really love being out in the woods. The air is fresh and the coloured leaves, warm coloured sunlight often creates nothing but a magical atmosphere.
Finding and shooting fungi in this environment is often like a treatment for me - helps to relax, calm down and "get grounded" again.

I thought I share some of my finds with you here and hope you enjoy as much as I did when finding and capturing these guys with the camera (all z6 with either 105mm Nikon or 180mm Sigma)

fungi season slowly comes to an end. Still they are there and the warmth of the last 2 days lets them appear for probably the last wave of this year. Soon the golden leaves on the trees will be disappeared and the woods will turn grey and foggy. Time to catch nature's beauty once more before this happens

started my first fungi trip into the woods today. Absolutely beautiful late summer day with nice light and warm temperatures. For the season it has been dry, very dry -- too dry to let them grow as the usually do these days. Still some nice catches I'd like to share with you again...hope you enjoy them.

one more - was out through the woods with my bicycle actually .luckily I had my Z6 + 105macro in my backpack to catch this beauty
