Steve, you and your team have created my favorite photo site for tips, tricks, and germane info. However, the Supreme Commander in the house has noticed increased credit card and UPS activity. Please, let other enthusiasts become aware of possible domestic turbulence after reading your site. Keep up your GREAT efforts in photography.

The wonderful photos along with very helpful critique and comments can certainly lead to a serious case of GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). I'm fighting it off as best I can. :sneaky: I guess we need to remember that it's not necessarily the gear that makes a great photo.

LOL, it's a danger for sure!

To Steve and other posters that I’ve had experience with - as a truly amateur photographer I was extremely hesitant to post any of my photos, but I have & the response has been nothing but positive. Extremely helpful & my experience has been very non-hostile. Now maybe I’m just now bright enough to understand the comments!😀
I love this site & the help it has provided. Thank you also for putting this together.

😂😂😂 So true!

Maybe add something in the guidelines for people to indicate in their signature where they live in the world. I find it is very helpful when responding/commenting on others' posts. Better yet if their location could be indicated in the panel under the name/avatar.

That is a good idea! And where in the world the photo was taken.

I am curious about how folks sell their gear as many are making a move from being DSLR shooters to mirrorless and as lenses upgrade. Is it appropriate on this forum to ask about selling and buying used gear?

Often some folks say "I had that lens and moved up to the XYZ." I'm not saying this is the place for a yard sale. Just asking on thoughts about a topic for "In Search Of" or private "gear available." Then the connection can be continued privately.

I got this request today.... This type of thing is a danger to all users... No doubt leads to bad things.

Hi Admins! I just had a post deleted about Z9 availability in Canada. I might have missed it but I didn't see anything restricting sale-related info? I don't mean to break any rules but I just wanted to let the community know that I know of a dealer that has stock. I have no financial interest in the dealer or their sales. A policy update might be helpful. Thanks!

The thread of your post was…

Anyone looking to buy a Z9 from Canada, send me a DM.”

there was no content. Thus this looked like somebody looking to sell their camera.

for future reference, if somebody actually says they’re aware of availability by a dealer in a locality, then just say so. It’s fine. We have no policy against saying where hard to get items are. We have a firm policy against sales while we await legal advise. Anything borderline is out.
