I am very happy with the lens bare. With the teleconverter on, it's much more challenging to get a quick and accurate focus. The a7rIV is ideal for distant subjects, particularly large ones, but the a9II is better for birds. I have both bodies, as well as the Sony 100-400 lens.

I love almost any image of an owl, but this one is especially beautiful! You've really captured a sense of place, and the falling snow really sets the scene.
