This handsome guy was hanging out along the river in Costa Rica. We were on a short river cruise that afternoon. I shot this hand held from a moving boat with a Z9 and 600mm TC - while doing a LOT of moaning and groaning ! Shot @ 1/800th ! I was surprised to find out it is called a "green iguana"!

(For some reason, I had to down size the image to 950 x 750 @ 92 resolution, jpg setting at 10 - before I could upload it......)

This is awesome, Karen. Both the bokeh and the sharp details on the subject really show off the qualities of that lens. Good thing we don't have enough equity in our house or I might be tempted to take out a second mortgage

Beautiful shot! He's a BIG boy!

And yes! Green iguanas can sometimes be reddish or a variety of other colors. I think it depends a lot on the region where they're found.

Thanks, Dan. I was excited to see this pose, but getting the shot was tough!
Gosh, interesting subject. You nailed this exposure
Love the WYSIWYG aspect of mirrorless!
Very nice Karen! I’m looking forward to more images from your Costa Rica trip!
Working on it! I'm about 1/2 was through my "haul" of images! LOL!
Awesome specimen and so sharp image!
Thanks! At 100% the details are amazing!
Great image. Wonderfully sharp
Appreciate it, Rich! As I mentioned above, at 100% the details are amazing! Especially at that shutter speed and from a moving boat. I put my legs in the side of the boat and tried to steady the big lens on my knees! NOT a pretty sight!

Very nice. Great details for sure. Not sure if this is the source of the name, but when these guys are immature, they are emerald green. The color changes as they grow into maturity. They grow amazingly fast. Start to mature at 10-20 weeks of age.

The results are outstanding, regardless of the method

Karen we get lots of iguanas in South Florida. In fact they are considered an invasive species down here. They range in colors from ugly brown to electric green to bright red-orange. The green ones get an orange breeding color. With all that said your shot is very beautiful.
