How do I prevent/fix this in Photoshop?

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

That's a good question. I guess I would be thinking in terms of chromatic aberration and check out the lens correction tools and/or defringing tools in Lightroom or camera raw. Maybe one of the pros here can say what type of aberration or if it is something else.

What causes the blue fringing at the tips of the flight feathers and how can I fix it?
Fringing is almost certainly chromatic aberrations in the lens as posted above but it can also be exaggerated by over sharpening.

I'd start by seeing how much of the fringing you can remove during raw conversion in the lens corrections tab but there are ways to reduce/remove CA in post. I'd suggest Googling 'removing Chromatic Aberration in Photoshop' to see some of the tutorials on methods folks use which often take a number of steps but can work wonders.

Also deep cropping and associated heavy sharpening will also tend to exaggerate Chromatic Aberration which is another reason to try to avoid deep crops when you can.

Thanks!
I went into PS > camera raw filter > optics > defringe > selected blue with eyedropper and DONE!
It also worked to fix it in LR with lens corrections > checked Remove Chromatic Aberration and Enable Profile Correction and DONE.

That fringing looks green to me (on my screen) so some chromatic aberration removal in ACR should easiliy get rid of it. Play with the size and the color range a bit.
