How many lenses do you have?

I’ve just had a cleanout, and moved to exclusively Z. Oh and an old Sony Nex
Current lens tally: Voigt 12, 15, 20. Nik 50, 14-30, 24-70, 70-200, Sigma 45, Sony 16, 24-70, 70-300. That’s only 11. My cleanout could be declared a success. A year ago the tally was over 20!

All the z lenses I’ve purchased are phenomenal!

Also an impressive list

Too many to list...now that you made me count, I am slightly horrified! I rarely sell anything although I should, but by the time I get around to it they usually aren't worth much.

Nikon: 23
Nikon 50 1.8
Nikon 200-500VR
Nikon 500VR FL E
Nikon 500 PF (mine)
Nikon 500 PF (spouse)
Nikon 16-80 (DX)
Nikon 24-70 2.8
Nikon 80-400 AFS-VR
Nikon 12-24 (DX)
Nikon Z 24-70 F4
Nikon Z 24-200
Sigma 24 1.8
Nikon 70-300 (old and should sell)
Tamron 90 Macro
Tamron 17-35
Tamron 16-300 (DX)
Tamron 150-600
Nikon 200-400VR version 1, need to sell
Nikon 105 VR
Nikon 60 macro
Nikon 70-200 VR FL E
Nikon 28 mm 1.8 (old AI lens)
Nikon 24-120VR VII

Nikon 1: 4 (I really should sell my Nikon 1 stuff but its virtually worthless.)

Fuji: 6

Fuji 16mm
Fuji 80mm macro
Fuji 27
Fuji 18-55
Fuji 50-200
Samyang 12mm

To be fair, the Nikon lenses are (mostly) shared with my spouse as he uses a D500 and now also a Z5. Hence for example we have TWO 500 PFs as he really coveted mine, and two macro lenses, etc.

That’s a hefty list for sure.

I have and all of these: 600mmF:4G VR, Sigma 800mmF:5.6 F, 200~500mmF:5.6 G VR, 18mmF:2.8 AFD, 20mmF:2.8D, 300mmF:4AFS, 70~180mm F:3.5-4.5 AFD Micro, SW 80~200MM F:2.8D, 16mmF:3.5 manual focus, 24~120mm F:3.5-4.5 VR, 80~200mmF:2.8 AFD. I just received last year Nikon 1000mmF:11 lens and a old Nikkor 50~300mm F:4.5 manual focus. These two lenses are just toys I like to play with. I use a F5 with split image focus screen with those two lenses. The only non Nikon glass is the 800mm. Believe or not but I use all of them during the year.
How do you like your sigma 800 ? Thanks Bob Lawrence

I have twelve lenses fitted to four Nikon DSLRS. All in use with five more often than the others. Won’t get rid of any since I use them all. Some are 20-30 hrs old and not made any more. All produce awesome images in their own right.

This is a sensible subject around my home. My wife has a Nikon D7200 with a 18-140 mm, and rarely see a need for anything else.
I have a D7200 and a D850, however the D7200 should be sold. For the D7200 solely I sport Nikon 35 mm f/1.8 DX, Nikon 18-105 mm DX, Nikon 55-200 mm DX, Tokina 11-16mm DX, if the D7200 goes those will leave as well.
For the D850 I use Nikon 24 mm f/1.8, Nikon 35 mm f/1.4, Nikon 50 mm f/1.8, Tamron 70-200 f/2.8, Sigma 105 mm f/2.8 Macro, Tamron 150-600 (G1). So 11 lenses in total.
The FF lenses is all used frequently.

The sensible side of the subject comes when we talk about spending money on a hobby and air-travel where my carry-on bag sometimes have been found too heavy and the wife have had to carry a lens or a computer.

Currently I am a little annoyed about changing lens frequently for the 24-70 mm span, so am looking for a 24-70 mm f/2.8...

Since I only got back into photography in 2019, and I've discovered that I now am only interested in bird photography, I only have three Nikkor lenses. I don't plan on buying any more, at present.
  1. 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3
  2. 200-500mm f/5.6
  3. 500mm PF f/5.6

I have no idea! I received a box of camera equipment from a family friend, all Nikon manual focus lenses, probably between 20 and 25 lenses. I have passed along a lot of these to friends, but still have at least a dozen. Not too sure how many af lenses are in my collection, probably between 12 and 15. I have a D750, a Z50 with both kit lenses, and a few film cameras, including my Dad’s old Nikkorex F and a Nikon F. I guess the real answer is far too many, lol.

Six plus a TC. 17-50 Tammy, 50mm Nikon, 70-300 Nikon, 300mm Nikon that is always mated to a 1.4 Nikon TC, 100-400 Tammy, 200-500 Nikon

The 200-500 is used 95% of the time. :)

I have currently 21 lenses and use all but 2 of them during most years. I sell a lens when a newer one (as with the 70-200mm and the 600mm) is replacing it but otherwise hold onto my lenses as the amount I would get by selling them is trivial in the overall scheme of things. The 500mm PF (along with the 80-400mm) did replace the 200-500mm zoom lens. The 500mm PF lens is what keeps me solidly with Nikon FX DSLR cameras.

As I am photographing since the eighties, I have accumulated a huge collection, mostly heavy metal (and some "plastic fantastic") Nikkors, exclusively.
Some 64 MF beauties ( I am missing the QDC 15/5.6F and the 500/4P EDIF) + just 7 AF lenses. And yes, I use all of them, of course, some more than others depending on the subject of choice.

Here, the "heavy metal" family, for life, contrary to the AF lenses (that have to be changed every 5-10 years...):
