In East Tennessee, Ruby-throated hummingbirds are what we expect to see, but this Male Rufous HB is back for his fourth winter with us. He shows up in August and heads northwest in early April. D850, Tamron 150-600 G1 at 550mm, f6.3 @ 1/1600

In our area, we see hummers in the fall & early spring as they migrate through. It's getting close to that time, so I am ready!

Terrific set, Geoff. You've always seemed to have a knack for locating & superbly capturing all sorts of wildlife.
The "fight" & snow captures in this set are outstanding. I never even considered hummers in the snow.

I am just blown away at these photos. They are gorgeous! I am still playing cat and mouse with the hummers coming to my feeder. But I did manage to get one or two keepers.
