Cool shots! They are pretty rare up here in SE Minnesota.
They're quite rare here in Poland, too. I have a 15 meters of my garden wall covered with honeysuckle vine which attracts a lot of insects - mostly various kinds of bumblebees but once in a while, if you patient enough, this strange creature makes a short visit. Not very difficult to photograph while hovering but you need some luck to capture them in flight. The other thing is they're most active at dusk when photographing them is really challenging: at 1/800s you get ISO 25600-51120 and noise management becomes very tricky - especially if you need to crop quite heavily.

Great shots!
Thank you. Rather - lucky shot. They're so fast when changing flowers you simply can't follow. I tried 120/30 frames per second with pre-release jpg but resulting images were rarely acceptable for me: the necessary dynamic range and noise management are simply not good enough comparing to raw files.
