Just saw an ad for a Canon EL-1 speed light. I have no problem spending money on quality equipment but what in the world makes this worth $999.00?

Now I'm trying to remember how much I paid for my Nikon SB-900/910's. It wasn't ~$1k, but they were pricey; so much so that I only bought them when they were heavily discounted.

My SB900 was around 330 GBP in 2010. That was the last Nikon flash I bought. Got a Godox V860ii and never looked back. Could have had 2 Godox units for the price of my SB900. I still have my 2x SB800s and the SB 900, but they don't get alot of use now, only when I'm using multiple flash set ups. Otherwise the Godox get the first call every time.

Looks like a heck of a pro flash. Guide number 197 feet automatically adjusts the angle based on the zoom angle of view. Out of my price category.
