I need help learning Affinity Photo.

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

Does anyone have any good recommendations for either books or videos on Affinity Photo (for Beginners)? I have never used Photoshop, and although I have Photoshop Elements 2020, I have found it non-intuitive to do fine-tuning of a photo.

Thanks for your suggestions.

There is also a project book you can get as well as the resources already mentioned. It is not cheap but it seems to get discounted from time to time. I got mine with 30% off.

There are also books by independent writers - for instance

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B085HN7K51/

There are also some Kindle books. Look on amazon and there are quite a few.

Affinity Photo currently has enticing offers - 90 day free trial and perpetual license purchase for $25.

I downloaded Photo for the trial but haven't had much chance to test drive it.

Any thoughts on Affinity Photo as an alternative to Photoshop and/or Lightroom?

In thge UK there are many good reports from users, many of who have ditched PS in favour of it. Some have found some disadvantages though so worth looking for these.

I have found this set of tutorials by Anthony Morganti to be helpful in getting my feet wet with Affinity Photo. The only issue is I have found that these tutorials came out in 2018, so some of the features/functions look a little different, or are no longer there (or where he states they are in the program). Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Morganti is good too, I forgot about him. Glad you found him. It seems to be a good package, not having extensive photoshop experience, I can’t list side by side features, but it seems to cover a very broad base, with a non-subscription product. Additionally, & probably more, I use PhotoLab 4 for editing. Different approach & different product, but for most of my purposes it provides what I at least think I need. But I do use them in conjunction particularly for Astro photography. Good luck & keep after it.

You can get the tutorial easily form youtube and other website on Internet.
Affinity Photo is an affordable option you can get to a full Photoshop experience.
In addition, I recommend you Paint.net, which is simple, free and intuitive photo editing software.
