Is this good enough for a donation raffle?

I'm thinking about having this printed on glass and donating it for a fund raiser for TROT. (Therapeutic ridding) Because of the fires the sunrise was spectacular. Please give me your best ideas. I would take off the words at the bottom before having it made.

That's a tremendous image and a worthy contribution to the fund raiser. I'd think it would print brilliantly on glass or direct on metal. Great work!

I'd say that is a winner as is. If you are asking for critique you might experiment with different crops to focus in on the story you want to tell, but that of course is your aesthetic. To me the treetops and even the rocks in the foreground don't add to the story. I would crop to the top of the trees or even the bottom of the scrub brush, but others would disagree I'm sure. The tree in the distance on the right gives a nice sense of depth, but you could give up some of the left side and give a little more to the sky. It's all how it hits you as the artist.

One can drive themselves crazy in post processing. This photo is beautiful as posted. A different crop or some lightening/darkening may be OK but for sure not necessary.

As for the words on the bottom, the "Sand Wash Basin" I think I would leave or maybe center along the bottom edge and spread out more across the bottom of the image. Especially if Sand Wash Basin has special meaning to the group to whom you are donating.

Whomever buys this will be proud to own it for sure.

Yes certainly an excellent image to submit for a fund raiser. I'm in the same camp as Rassie in prefering sun shots to be off center. I like his suggested crop.

I vote for the original post. Showing the different land levels lends interest without dominating. The horses and the sun are primo. I'm from Tucson and am familiar with TROT, a great organization. It would make an excellent piece for auction/donation.

In a word, yes. Amplified, I'd say there are likely many who would want to display that photo.

Were I you, I'd make sure that the print was signed.

Yes, I was thinking, "it's a little too 'centered''; change that and you have something really breathtaking. Rassie's re-cropping is a real winner, I think. The little bit of extra room on the left side gives a sense of where the horses are headed, oh, so slowly, as they graze.

Great organization to help out and this subject should fit right in !!! I tend to like the off center crop Rassie did. I have a layered landscape on the wall I have sold and I am looking at right now ... and sadly it is also crazily beautiful at midday because of fires ... dry and fires has become a dominant theme out here in the west over the last few years.

Thanks for everyones comments. I have been out of town for two months. I am going with my original composition with a few minor tweaks. Having it made on metal high gloss 20"x40" at Bayphoto. After the auction, I will let you know how it turned out.
