Joshua Tree NP Star Trails

I took these on consecutive nights in Joshua Tree NP in November 2019. My plan is to print these on Metal like the Milky Shot I posted not too long ago. Wanted to get your opinion on what you think of these two photos. I believe the 1st photo was 300 shots and the 2nd was 250.

interested to hear what others say. I like shot number 2. I like the way it is framed better. The tree looks like it is ready to catch Polaris. I showed both photos to my wife who is also an outdoor photographer and she liked number 2 best. I liked it because of the composition. She liked the color of the sky and how it was less busy with the star trails.

Only thing I would ask would be if it is possible to lighten up the mountains in the foreground a little bit without hurting the rest of the image? Maybe a little dodging in the lower right third?

Both are excellent photographs by the way. Well done.

Thanks for the suggestion. I lightened the rocks in the second photo, but it's subtle since I didn't want to go overboard.
