I am having a knee replacement in a couple of months and am looking for a laptop pad/table to use in order not to have the corner of the laptop resting on my recovering surgery. Laptop has cooling vents in the bottom so I cannot sit it on a normal pillow; I am thinking pillow on bottom with a solid top. Has anyone gone through something like this, any good ideas? I cannot imaging sitting here for a few weeks or a month without editing photos, keeping up with this forum or other sites I visit. Thanks in advance!!

They make flat top laptop "desks" that should work well (hard flat top with pillow beneath). I have one I bought years ago, and I used it quite frequently. I do not use it as much, but would if I was in your circumstances. Have you searched for one?

Good luck on surgery and finding a "desk",

I second this, my wife and I each have one. They work well.

Thanks, Replytoken! Yes, I have researched some but there are a lot of options out there. Looking for first hand experience with same situation. I know there are a lot of participants that are in the joint replacement stage of life!:LOL:

I am not quite there yet, but probably heading in that direction. The one that I have is some type of vinyl "pillow" not unlike a beanbag. I like it because there is enough fill and space to allow it to adjust to a variety of angles. This company makes a lot of them and they sell them at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Amazon among other places, and the model I have is of a similar design: https://www.lapdesk.com/heritage-lapdesk .

Just a bit of a DIY suggestion what about an old oven shelf on a piece of ply on the pillow ?
Best wishes on your op and hope you will be running around soon, Robin.
Thanks for the suggestion, Robin. I have ordered something but if it does not work out, I may give it a try!
