When diving one may focus on a single target or a type of fish. or any of several other possibilities, just like shooting on land. And, sometime you shoot whhat you find. In these photos you will see a variety of small shrimps native to the Red Sea near Jeddah Saudi Arabia.
My ID book is in an, as yet, unpacked box of stuff from my move back to the US so IDs are not provided at this time.
All were photographed with a Nikon1 J3 with the 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 lens in a Nikon WP-N2 housing and with one or rtwo Sola 1200 lumen dive lights. This camera/lens combo has a pretty short focus distance which I took advantage of.
All are processed in LrC.

Very nice! Unusual to see underwater images and quite a pleasant surprise to see these. What an experience it must have been to dive in the Red Sea! I've dove the So Calif coast, Hawaii, Caymans, Belize and Papua New Guinea. Diving is one of the most spectacular experiences of my life! I used a Sea & Sea camera with 2 dive lights. I could switch from macro to wide angle underwater!

Thank you and it would be nice to see other underwater shots here, either in wildlife or in the Macro sections.
I was able to dive the Red Sea with about 550 dives over 6+ years (Aug 2013-Feb 2019). Mostly around Jeddah where I lived from 2009-2021. Now I have had to "retire" from diving for medical reasons. I would be putting my dive buddies at risk if I had an issue and would never do that. I was hoping to dive other places, but that is not to be.
I do have a catalog of over 11,000 photos to curate and put together a couple of photobooks. Also. I want to revisit some older photos with the neweat software to see if they can be better presented. I have posted a few other underwater shots here and plan for more.

Pretty sure #3 is a Banded Coral Shrimp (aka Banded Cleaner Shrimp).
My sympathies… I have an inner ear disorder that stopped my diving. It also keeps me from flying, other than the little regional flights that use lower altitudes.
