Live view in Z9

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

If there is no button for live View then how do you activate it? I use this function all the time.
Thank you๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
Use the button on the left side of the viewfinder to select whether you view through the viewfinder, the LCD screen or automatically toggle between the two, depending on whether or not you have your eye to the viewfinder. Edited due to me confusing myself and not having the camera in front of me...grrrr!

Technically speaking the Z9 is always in Live View mode, unlike DSLR's which were either in Live View or using the optical viewfinder. The reality is mirrorless cameras are video cameras optimized to take still photos! :)

In the Set Up Menu you can choose what views you want. to eliminate.

Then you can use the small button on the left side (when holding the camera to shoot or view the back of the camera) of the flash mount to toggle through the options. I like the Prefer Viewfinder. BTW - if you lift the bottom edge just a bit the LCD will come on.

Depending on how you set it up. Live view is basically just using the rear LCD. Either setting it up to automatically use LCD until you put your eye to the VF or toggle it on with the tiny button on left side of viewfinder.
