I received my Nikon 800mm PF a couple of weeks ago and I've been itching to try it out. I was able to stop at the local wildlife preserve here in Los Angeles on a couple of morning this week to spend an hour or two on my way to work. Both mornings were heavily overcast, which forced some fairly low shutter speeds. Anyway, so far I'm quite happy with the 800, but it does take some getting used to when trying to quickly get it centered on a subject.

Glad you're getting a chance to try out that lens. So far so good. This is a nice set. Excellent shot of the cormorant. Yes a bit of practice raising the camera on target is in order. @Steve covers that in one of his videos though I can't remember which one.
