This butterfly has green in the wings (in fact Malachite Green ), but whatever way the sunlight was refracting through them on this occasion, they gave out a yellow hue --- pretty, but quite misleading when attempting an identification. Shot with D750 and Nikkor Micro 105mm plus 1.4 TC @150mm., ISO 1600, f4.2 1/1000 sec., handheld. 26/02/17.

Beautiful wing pattern Have you tried hue/saturation to shift the yellow to green in the wings?
Blimey Callie, you're a genius-- its funny, I never even thought to do that, but this edit has corrected the wing colour to what I expected, and had seen on other Malachite butterflies in the area . Thanks a million.

Another idea... I like the color adjustment you made to get the butterfly's coloration correct, but maybe add a mask so the adjustment doesn't affect the rest of the image. That way, I think the butterfly will pop even more.

Thanks RL Sprouse --- I would like to try your suggestion, but have tended to use lightroom almost exclusively and am not so familiar with photoshop , which is how I presume you would add the masking layer to get the desired effect , so a few directions would be useful .
