Mallard Hen

I've been working on my waterfowl photography at a local duck pond with some easy targets. I haven't had many chances to photograph some of the rarer/cooler looking waterfowl, but I'm pretty happy with this photo of an ordinary Mallard hen. Taken this Monday.

Nikon D7500 + Nikon 300mm F/4 IF-ED AF-S + TC14e.

Thanks. Hah! There was a drake immediately behind her that I cropped out, so I think HE was up to something!

Nice shot. Although plentiful, I find mallards beautiful. The drakes with the iridescent green heads get the notice but there is something about the subtle beauty of the hens that tends to draw attention at the front of my lens. I enjoy finding beauty in the common things around us every day
