Midge

Although it looks like a mosquito, it's not -- it's a midge. Midges, like mosquitos, are a type of fly; as in all flies, they have two wings not four as do other winged insects. This midge is on the petal of an apple blossom, probably seeking the nectar or pollen on which it feeds.

It was necessary to heavily crop the image and resize it for posting -- so it wound up as a terrible photo. The photo's been removed, but I can't (don't know how) to remove the entire post. Sorry folks.
