Walk in the park. Greenfield Park, Milwaukee, WI.
Plenty of signs of fall. Here are the very important milkweed plants and the ever present Milkweed Beetles.
For those not familiar - milkweed plants are essential habitat - food and egg laying for the now endangered Monarch Butterfly.
The monarchs are gone by now but the pods are ready to pop and spread the seeds. Plants in the parks are not supposed to be disturbed by us.
The milkweed bugs do not impact the monarch butterflies.
Anyway, here are a few shots. Nikon Z9, 100-400 Z lens plus TC2.0Z. Nice combo for closeups like this where It was not always possible to atep into the garden/brush where the plants were. Shots are not cropped. Wind would not allow focus shift shooting.
