Very good Steven, how have the Monarchs been in your area this summer? I have seen very few this year, in fact the milkweeds haven't even been chomped on much at all. I miss them, as we have had large numbers in past years.

We’ve had quiet a few but less than last year for sure.
 
Thanks for the link, Andrew. Funny thing is, I'm not too far from you, relative to many on this forum. I'm up near the Twin Cities. And yet, like Jim, haven't seen that many monarchs this year, and the milkweeds are largely untouched!
 
Like the slight symmetrical separation at the back of the wings in the second photo. Gives more substance and depth to the flat wing side positioning.
