My luck continues! South Rim Grand Canyon

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

A few weeks ago I posted some photos captured while out scouting some sites that we had found before. The settings weren't quite what I wanted so we decided to drive back home, but I kept hoping for a quality composition to utilize the almost full moon that was coming up. Luck would have it as that happened.
Recently my luck has continued as we embarked on a trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

First off, Grand Falls Az (aka Chocolate Falls) just NE of Flagstaff, were still running, what a sight! That was really cool.

Then we ventured onto the Grand Canyon hoping to capture some lightning photos. with the monsoon season seemingly still in high gear, we got to see it all! Lightning, cloud to cloud, cloud to ground, rainbows, unbelievable sunrise & sunsets, and brilliant clear skies at times during both day & night. It was simply fantastic! These are just a few of the shots I was LUCKY enough to capture.
What a trip.

Bill, beautiful set.👍👍👍👍

Outstanding job, Bill! You and everyone in Arizona are lucky with this year's monsoons. Great job of combining good luck with good skills. I'd suggest you submit these to Arizona Highways. They have a Photo of the Day on-line as well as several annual contests. Here's a link if you're interested:

So, did you drive all the way home knowing you had these shots or were you pleasantly surprised when you saw how good they really are?? Congratulations.

Thanks Malcolm. My sister & her husband reside near Phoenix for a portion of the year & their son & his wife are full time residents in Phoenix. It would surprise them, & certainly myself, to land a photo there in that magazine!
I was quietly hopeful that these were hits. I took a lot so that increased my chances, but the scenery was so spectacular you couldn’t hardly miss. May truly be a one in a lifetime opportunity, But tempting fate we’re actually planning a return trip in 2024, hope to include the North Rim with it. Thanks for the comments. Sincerely appreciate it.
